The uniform features Petty's instantly recognizable STP red-and-blue color scheme and an assortment of embroidered patches, including Pontiac Motorsports, Goodyear, Prestone, Union 76, Champion, Monroe, Goody's, and others. Competing in all 29 Winston Cup events, "The King" recorded nine top-five finishes and 14 top-ten finishes, ultimately placing eighth in the final championship standings.
