39th Running Indianapolis 500 Race Ticket
Original grandstand ticket from the 1955 Indianapolis 500 — a race remembered not only for Bob Sweikert’s victory, but also for its tragedy. Sweikert drove the No. 6 John Zink Special to a strong, composed win, becoming the first driver to sweep the Midwest’s major open-wheel events that season. The race was overshadowed by the fatal accident involving two-time winner Bill Vukovich, who was leading and seeking a record third straight Indy 500 victory.
