1902 Ford Racer #999 - Exoto 1:18
In 1901, Henry Ford set out to prove his engineering prowess by building a racer to challenge the oval track in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Against all expectations, Barney Oldfield piloted the Ford to victory—claiming the $1,000 prize and the publicity that helped ignite the Ford success story. This historic machine became the first Ford racing car ever to complete and win a race.
Exoto proudly recreates this legendary record breaker in exquisite 1:18 scale. Though deceptively simple in appearance, the model captures every ferocious detail, from the massive 18.9-liter four-cylinder engine with exposed crankshaft and pistons to the fully connected drivetrain, working crown wheel and pinion, and hand-laced brass wire wheels. Featuring over 650 brass radiator fittings, hand-wrapped wiring, authentic materials, and numerous functioning mechanical elements, this model represents one of the most sophisticated and faithful replicas Exoto has ever produced.
